Absolutely. Every piece of furniture created by Chapel Kitchens and Furniture is handcrafted by our skilled craftsmen in our workshop, located in the village of Nun Monkton. What sets our furniture apart is the attention to detail—how it functions and feels on the inside is just as important as its outer appearance. When you visit our showroom, we’ll give you a tour of our workshop, allowing you to meet our craftsmen and see the furniture being made. We use only the finest materials, including 33mm solid beech for our carcass and door frames, and 15mm solid oak for our drawer boxes, ensuring durability and quality in every piece.
As a local business operating in this beautiful county, we feel a strong sense of responsibility for the environment in which we both live and work. We are deeply grateful to our customers for supporting us over the past 25 years, and we wanted to mark our anniversary in a meaningful way—one that reduces our environmental impact while also benefiting our customers and employees for future generations. As a small gesture of thanks, we planted over 80 English Willows, along with numerous fruit trees and English Oaks.
With growing public awareness of environmental issues and an increasing number of customers requesting certified timber, we have taken steps to stock products from sustainable and responsibly managed forests. In particular, we offer FSC® certified products, which are sourced from forests that are independently inspected and evaluated based on stringent environmental, social, and economic criteria established by the Forest Stewardship Council AC. This reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability and to producing furniture that aligns with the values of our customers and community.
Over the last 20 years, we have worked with a variety of paint manufacturers, and through this experience, we've developed a preference for Little Greene, Farrow & Ball, Paint and Paper Library and Zoffany. These brands offer an exceptional range of colours and palettes, and their durability is outstanding, making them our go-to choices. However, if a client has a different manufacturer in mind, we are more than happy to accommodate their preferences and work with the paint of their choice to ensure the perfect finish for their project.
